    Default Mount for 998c SI

Does anyone have a 998c SI mounted on the Hi-Tek fish finder mount that Scott makes? If so, can you tell me how well the stock gimbal mount fits on the platform and how stable it is when drilled through the aluminum plate? I am wanting to mount my bow 998 closer to the seats so either person can mark as we fish, etc.

Thought about the RAM mount systems, but I want the ease of removing the post and display quickly and easily.

I have both.... Hi-tek holder works great with my 597 but I have my 998 on a ram mount. Don't think you will have any problem with a 998 on a Hi-tek mount but the ram mount is more sturdy. Scott did ask me what unit I was going to run on mine when I bought it so he does make different size tops for his. I actually have two Hi-tek mounts with one being about 14 inches high and the other only 2-3 inches high. If you get one about 6 inches in height I believe it will be plenty sturdy for the 998.
