In the last 2 months my 80lb Terrova went from pulling my boat at 2.7 to 1.7 on high. I have since upgraded to 6 gauge wire and refilled the fluid levels in the batteries as they were low. Motor works fine on low power but doesn't have the juice it should on high. Batteries are about 18 months old and when I plug in my Minn Kota 3-bank charger all is well. I haven't had a chance to have someone check the batteries yet but just wondering what you guys thought. Maybe one of the batteries going bad??? Thanks for any input.

Replace both and quit being cheap.
You've gained weight with all this holiday eating. Go on a diet.

Y'all all suck! And I ain't cheap, $350 for the golf cart batteries and they already going bad sucks. I will check the trolling motor for line first though.

How low were they? The water in a battery is on top of the electrolite ( acid) to prevent the acid from evaporating. If you run them low ( and your water layer is gone ...you eventually start losing acid to evaporation....then when you fill your batteries back up with distilled water they are weakened because your acid is less. Never run them so low that the plates are exposed. Battery longivity is increased if you check them often and top the water off before they get too low.
