I have a masterbuilt electric and have used it a lot. Never cleaned anything except the racks and removable drip pan. I do know you do not want to get the element wet.

Same here Duck, I never clean the barrel part of my Brinkman. Only the racks and water pan. I think food tastes better when the smoker is seasoned!!!

Do the same in my gas smoker, acks and drip pan. If you guys like them electrics you need to try a gas one.

I use the electric Brinkman for small stuff. I can do about 4 chickens or pork roasts with it. I have a gas smoker for bigger stuff. It can hold about 7 turkeys or 60+ pounds of deer sausage.

Leave all that good flavor alone! I've got a wood burner Brinkman with a fire box and it smells like it is cooking something even in the winter when it don't even have a fire in it.I do scrape out the bottom about twice a year if I have used it a lot!
