you said that the Walmart craft paint on the eyes of jigs would hold up good if its baked ? I powder paint and then put them in an small oven for a few minutes to cure the powder paint (it sure helps, makes the paint hard as a rock, but make sure to clean eyes and all out before you bake) and have in the past when I painted eyes on, I would do it after I baked the heads and then put the same epoxy over the eyes that I use on cranks. Hope I read this somewhere, sure would make putting eyes on much faster and neater too

Larry what I do is powder paint and the cure for 20 min. at 350. I then paint the white of the eye and let it dry for 30 min. or so, then the black part of the eye. Once that dries, back in the oven for 20 min. at 350 again. The small bottles of craft paint from Wal Mart is what I use.

Thanks Scott, I have painted the eyes before I put them in the oven for curing, Hope that works the same as I just finished a few today and cured them.

If you paint the eyes over uncured powder paint, the eyes will run down the jig head a little when you cure them. So I cure the powder paint before I do the eyes.
