I'm of the opinion that if I spend $800 for my semi annual trips to Grenada that I want the best chance to load the boat. Big deal if I can catch 15 in a day on jigs when minners would give me 40. I'll spend what's needed for minners

I'M OF THE OPINION THAT IF I PAY FOR TWELVE, THEN I EXPECT TWLEVE . I SUPPORT BUISSNESSES THAT EARN YOUR BUISSNESS NOT MERELY ASK FOR IT . MONEY FOR MINNOWS IS NOT THE ISSUE . THE TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT ATTITUDE WILL SEND MANY COUNTRY BOYS ELSEWHERE . THE LOCALS ARE HIS BUISSNESS,NOT THE ONCE IN A WHILE FOLKS .:biggrin
I'll pay what is needed. I WANT what will work the best. I pay for 12, why should I expect more. Up here there $2.75 a dozen, and you NEVER get more than 13. Stop cryin.

I am not crying, just doing some math. I fish Grenada pretty much every weekend. Grew up believing that a stop at the bait shop was a required step in the process. It is not the fact that I am getting what I paid for. I have no problem with that. I am just questioning whether I need to pay for it at all. $25 a month will buy a lot of jigs, AND jigs don't die every time you fish with em.
Like I said in OP. I have seen a lot of people catch limits on Grenada with jigs. Daddy always told me that they were just getting lucky (even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while) but some of these guys are getting lucky everyweekend, and doing it without worrying about minners. I am just wondering if I can start getting lucky like that........
I catch them with jigs and crappie nibbles and I catch them with jigs or gnats with minnows on them......just always seem to do a little better with the minnows.

If I weren't guiding or fishing a tournament, I would probably just use jigs. I really don't care if I catch a bunch or not. Like you though, I grew up fishing minnows. Old habits, especially productive ones, are hard to break.
i jig fished Grenada the other day and never caught a short fish only fished for 4 hours and had 10 hawgs im sure if my trolling motor battery wouldn't have went down i could have caught a few more or maby even the limit. I prolly would have caught them a lot faster with live minnows and caught a lot more fish but wouldn't have felt that thump and for me thats what it is all about and as for lake way they are a corporate office store me and rees talked about that before that corporate office would find out they were losing money on minnows and put a stop to it what they dont understand is that they were prolly making more money than losing with all the other supply's they were buying
fish with what you want its all fun and it all works
