you got that right Feelay. She gave me a beautiful Grand Daughter to. I have been meaning to put an inline fuse on it, just haven't yet. I hope it's just whre it's connected. I don;t think when they did some of the rewiring they recoated the connections with liquid tape

connections should not be twisted together and liquid tape....they should be twisted tightly together, soldered, then liquid tape, and then heat shrink. If your running without a breaker....you putting your boat at risk.....fire hazard.
