When we green carp fished pond hopping we used a regular depth finder with the transducer rigged on an old mount this way. Works great and easy to take in and out, Got the 798 mounted on a ram mount and an extra ball in the jon boat so its super easy to move.

Cool idea....I will start looking for a junk TM to get the needed parts
