Sam Heaton 11 mid handle for open water with some depth. Real shallow and brush use 8-9-10 ft Old Wally Marshal sig series and never had any trouble getting them out and pretty sensitive. Got a 12 brush cutter but to heavy for me to use very long. Were I to be going out this morning to get a new pole it would be one of the rear seat models.
BTW, my 11' Sam Heaton's are mid reel models, and I've used them for 15-20 yrs. not often tho. I like the feel of the rear seat Ozark better, but both are nice rods. Never tried the rear reel Heaton.

Nobody mentioned the BPS Crappie Maxx. By far my favorite is the Signature Series. I've used 'em all, too. I have about 6 brands in my boat (Ozark, B & M, Outlaw), and always reach for the Crappie Maxx 1st. Break it...take it back; no questions asked!
