I have not tried it myself but i have heard of people using an old chest type freezer as a holding tank. They put it on a timer so that it would not freeze the water but only keep it cool, i guess you would have to jack it up for the hot summer months and use the timer less and less as the days get cooler. Anyone else using a system like this?

I saw a post on the main board where a fellow did just that. He used a hand held temp reader to figure out where his lines were, drilled holes in side of box and used bulkhead fittings to hook up a filter system. You buy a external thermostat to plug freezer into and put sensor bulb in water then bypass freezer thermostat gives you better temp control in the 60/70 degree range.
