Default How do you guys secure your boat spare in the back of

your truck ? Mine was mounted on the trailer itself but took it off and kept it in the lock cover of my sportrac but the new to me truck that I got doesnt have a cover. Want to put my floor jack and spare in bed of truck but need to secure the spare. I think I will get me a truck box to lock up my jack and lug wrench in but dont believe spare will fit in the tool box. Ive been looking for a mount for the bed that I could lock the spare to but dont find what I think will work and not look like crap LOL

    thanks

I had an ole 72 chevy truck one time that had a factory spare holder in the bed and the tire just stood up and slid over next to side of bed, it had 2 wheel studs sticking out and you just set it up there and tightened it up. Might find and ole truck and get one of these off of it and mount it in the bed of your truck. Just an idea or get someone to build ya one

Shouldnt be too hard to build one just weld some wheel studs to a bracket of some sorts and mount it in the bed and done

Was thinking of maybe if I put a tool box on the truck, that I might drill thru and mount it to the front of the box with a all thread and the put one of the locking lug nut thingys on there

if you get a tool box that does not go all the way to the bed of the truck, you can slide it under there and chain and lock it.

Mine is laying in the bed. I'm a trusting soul. Heck, I forget and leave my keys in the ignition at the ramp, on occasion.
