As far as abbreviating, I see your point, but consider this, the following take just many keystrokes as the correct spelling; feller (fellow), minners (minnows), greazy (greasy), thang (thing), dranking (drinking), messican (mexican), gewber (goober), fer (for), feshes (fishes), 7 hunnert (7 hundred), feelay (filet), and finally my favorite, boofay (buffet). I suspect some think it's cute, just like your teeth comment. I'm sure this post won't win me any friends, but it's just how I feel, and I could not let it pass without responding.
