Public Apology

I’d like to take a moment to apologize to everyone on this board. I have recently been told by others that I’ve changed for the worse and have become somewhat of an ass and a troublemaker. After thinking about these statements, I am inclined to agree. Lately I haven’t been myself. I have let a certain few people on this board get under my skin.

Why have I let a certain few people annoy me to the point of lashing out at them? I don’t know. Maybe because this board has been a big part of my life for the last four years and now it is evolving into something other than what originally drew me to it.

I found the site while cruising for crappie info one day, and wow! This sight was loaded down with fishing reports. I quickly joined, introduced myself and started asking questions. I learned a LOT from the people on this board. Heck, all I knew to do 5 years ago was to drag some minners around the rock square at Sardis. Thank you to all that have taken the time to help me grow my knowledge of fishing for crappie. As a byproduct from the help I was given, I made some really good friends in the process. These people are the other side of why I would spend every spare minute browsing this website. It was fun.

Recently, in my opinion, the sight has taken a turn away from what originally attracted me to it. It seems that everyone has taken on a “the internet is killing our lakes” mentality, so fishing reports have become all but extinct. Since fishing is rarely talked about anymore, what is left to attract myself and others back to this sight every day? For me, this has been the humor. But again, recently the humor has been filtered and so diluted that very little content that could possibly earn a chuckle is even permitted to remain on the board. This appears to be attributed to by certain people with thin skin that can’t seem to take joke, and also by are moderators which at times seem to have a hair trigger on the delete button. Not pointing fingers at our mods, they have a tough job and I don’t know how they can put up with it at times.

For the reasons stated above and for my busy schedule in life, I’ve decided to take a break from the board. I feel that I can make better use of my time by refocusing on work, school and family, rather than reading a bunch of meaningless bickering which seems to make my blood boil.
Sorry again. I hope that this board can turn around and I wish you all the best.

Think you hit the nail on the head ES and I spect I'm bout with ya on it all. I too, let a few get under my skin and that caused me to get mad and lashout at folks. I put that in a post yesterday. It can get to you with always negative folks coming at you from several directions. I know I've Hacked a few folks off with my lashing out and I'm sorry for that. Fishing has become not secondary but 3rd or 4th down the list of what all is talked about here. To many I'm on so and so's prostaff member and in this or that club. Those clubs seen to pull everyone except those in them apart. Kinda disjoints the whole premise of this site. One site, talking about fishing and a little fun. If you ever wanna hot the dink hole near my house, come on down and I'll give ya the grand tour.

hate to see that, es............but as i stated in another post, seems like this site has become about everything EXCEPT crappie fishing...............no fishing reports, techniques, or lake info. no one is looking for gps coordinates, but come on folks, this site is about helping others catch crappie, isn't it? seems like everything now is top secret, and im afraid it's going to draw more and more members away...........just my 2cents worth, lol.

Stick around Chad.......I think the low water levels.....the heat....and the fact not may keepers are biteing have folks on edge. There are a lot of good folks here. I know I have to moderate some and I really do not want to delete or lock anything but sometimes it is neccessary. I try my best to just get everybody to get along and sometimes thats not good enough..... But I do try.

My .02¢ on this is. I poke fun at everyone yeah i am gulity....90% of us do, but 90% of the REAL problems come from one person and yall and that person know who it is. Bottom line take it how you want to....
