I re-tied the rigs on all my poles and tied some extras, had not tied any extras until I kinda saw how they worked and all, good thing too cause the line was too light. Anyways, while resetting up my poles I realised the drag was reall tite on most of em, got broke off a couple of times yesterday due to drag and lite line both I think, one time it wouldnt have mattered cause whatever it was was heavy.
All that said, how tite do yall set the drag on your spider riggin poles?? In the green carp days I like to be able to reach and get the line and pull drag fairly easy, had to pull but not cut into my hands.
Fixxin to hit the lake, will check back in when I get the poles out.

Drag Question? Better ask this for WB, he's the one that wears dresses and washing clothes. LMBO LMBO

I keep mine tight but I'm using C $ C 14 foot poles. If I were using a shorter and stiffer rod, I'd loosen it up abit to not rip it out of the crappies mouth. GOT to have some play

Let's ask DD. He's the resident drag queen.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
i keep my drag set where i can pull it fairly easily. when playing a large feesh in shallow water i sometimes help out by pulling the lineand giving them some room to play

I keep mine kinda like you said, loose enough to pull off by hand and not tight enough to cut my hand.
