Well I have an alarm on the house and my dog is an inside dog but would let me know if someone came around the house. It is just when me and my wife aren't at home.

Marty my brother in law was having some things come up missing from his house and got tired of it. He put in a surveilance system and can watch it from the puter or his phone anytime he wants. He says it easy to do if your pretty good with stuff like that. And by the way he was very shocked at some of the things he saw on it also. Just dont put the cameras inside your house because if someone did hack into it they might see you walkin through the house in underwear or birfday suit:biggrin.
I had the same problem. Found out my wife was the culprit. "Just re-arranging" things.
Marty the bad thing is they will be back if they got by with it once. Get you a video cam hooked to computer one on boat and one pointed at street. Saw on Chanel 5 last week folks in Southaven recorded a guy stealing a bike from right at their front door and got car he was in. They did that after having another bike stolen a few weeks ago.
Sorry about your batteries, I hate thieves. Get a video or camera system, as dogs are just like us humans.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/09/08/rymyraza.jpgThey eventually get old! At 16 years of age 'ole Reds burgler chasing days are over.
You can pick up a pretty decent surveillance system at SAMs fairly cheap. Buddy of mine just put one at his house and it works well. The cameras are wireless so no running wire
Be nice to find some that when there is motion it would notify you
