I dont know if anyone has had any GOOD luck with splicing these babies back together. Would be nice to find a good and cheap used one but I figure that is next to impossible.

My buddy spliced one for a 788 DI and never had a problem with it. Hopefully you won't either.

I've spliced a couple of 2d transducer cables with no ill effects. Here is a link from Canepole with some good info http://spectrum-instruments.com/reso...licing_STP.pdf Searching the forum with the keyword "splicing" has good results.
Hate that you had trouble.

Well looks like only 2 cut completely & the others looks like insulation is stripped back some but appear to be still intact
It was good seeing you again Larry. Got to see that Custom Fand F boat of yours up close.....thats one fine looking boat. It scoots across the water really good also. Great day on the lake , the weather wasw perfect. It did not start raining untill on the way home. We caught 3 green carp thats it. Saw a lot of fish on the screen but also saw tons of shad.....I think thats why the fish are not biteing they have way too much to eat. Anyhow........will be back next Saturday and going to spider rig instead of single pole like we did today. Hope to see you on the water again soon. Oh, I did lose several jigs and one C.C hat to the lake Gods, lol
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I had the same thing happen years ago using the zip ties and started using black electrical tape. Never had one come loose using black tape. I would take the ties off and use the tape. Just a suggestion that worked for me. Torn 2 up before I got wise to this>
