Default actual fishin questions, go figure (and, it's my birthday)

trying to make up some spare double, c&c type, minner rigs and need some questions answered. i know there are some threads that address all of this but just can't find them....

1- when the wind is little or no factor what weight size do you find most effective?
2- i am currently using 6# hi-vis and number 6 red hooks, is there more effective combo's?
3- i am using a three way swivel. how far do yall have from the swivel to the weight and then how far from the weight down to the hook?
4- how long is the short line to the other hook?

    any info would be appreciated......

I almost always use half oz weights. The distance between the hooks and the weight varies (for me)depending on how deep of water i'm fishing. If i'm fishing shallow ,i like them about a foot above and below the weight. In deeper water I may go 18'' to 24'',with a little heavier weight. My hook above the weight,I like it about 6'' off the main line.Goodluck Windstone.

    1/2oz weight
8 to 10 inches from swivel to weight
8 to 10 inches from weight to hook
    6 inches on top hook
take in mind that i dont spider rig i just single pole but i see a lot of folks double rigs and they are all a little different in some way
    good luck

I reread your post and I don't use any swivels. The only time I would use a swivel if i were to pretie rigs and I don't.IMO it would not hurt a thing to go a couple size larger on your hooks.Ok i'm done now.

    The smallest hook/jig I use is a #4, the largest is a 4/0.
I have a snap swivel on the main line on the rods.
The rig is 3 foot long. A loop at both ends. Hooks/jigs and loops are 1 foot apart.
Top loop goes on snap, bottom loop has a bank sinker. I use a 3/4 oz. to 3 oz. sinker depending on water conditions, speed and depth.

C, when you hit 70, which i did today, your eyes can't stand the bright sun, rockin boat, watching four other poles and trying to thread a needle, all at the same time, i got to have pre riggs. geezerism does have it's draw backs.....

    I rarely use a minnow hook smaller than a #2. Most times I'm using a #1 or 1/0
