I'm stuck on what to do. I have a 16' boat that I've done my best to keep dual purpose. I fish out of it ten months out of the year, but I need it to be a good duck hunting boat during duck season. Dogs, buddies, fumbling around in the dark and smashing into trees and brush keeps me from having anything nice in the boat during duck season. My blind is removable. It looks like the pole holders that I want to get have low-profile bases making rod holders easily removed, and the trolling motor has a quick-release base that takes the whole thing off when it's not in use. The rear depth finder is semi-permanent, but that's good. At least something knows where we're going.

The problem is coming up with a trolling motor mounted depth finder that will be easily removed when duck season rolls around. When I remove the trolling motor, I want the RAM ball and power cable to remain. The trolling motor with the attached transducer would go in the house for a few months. Everything that I've found (that I can also afford) either has an intergrated base for power and transducer cables (HB) or a combo plug in the back for power and transducer (Lowrance), making this whole deal more complicated than I thought. I emailed HB Greg and he didn't have any great solutions, so I'm looking to y'all.

I know the best option is to stop messing around with one boat and buy two, but that's not in the cards. Does anybody else have any ideas?

Ideally, I'd like to put a HB 581i DI on the bow, but I'm afraid the mounting base is going to be a problem.
