I been thinkin..(I know, dangerous right?) With all the recent negativity lately, I think we done forgot about all the positive things, like what we have learned, who we have learned them from here on C.C.
I know I have learned quite a bit, from fishin to cars, thanx to being on here.
So let's see what y'all have to offer.
What is the most valuable thing you have learned, n who helped u to become a better fisherman/woman here on C.C.
The best entry (thanks to Slab) will receive a box of new Bobby Garland baits, all new colors. The cutoff will be 12noon on Friday 8/17/2012.
So let's hear em. We can recognize those whom helped us, n we can all also learn something new.
Time to remember what this whole forum is about.

One of the best things that happened to me here on Crappie.com is my mom coming to KY camp with me. It's been hard to take my mom anywhere because she just feels like she's too old to take trips. I try to tell her otherwise, but having my aunt down on Kentucky Lake, and having the KY Camp at Big Bear, about 10 minutes from my aunt's house is a blessing. It's a way to get them together, and also out of the house together fishing from a dock, and then winning prizes at the fish fry.
Here's the story of the 2010 trip.

It's become a tradition for me to take my mom down there to visit my Aunt and go to camp. I can't wait for this years trip.
I cant say any one person on Crappie.com, it's been a joint effort and a hard row to ho but despite myself the folks here have helped me learn to pull cranks and what I needed to do it with. DD, ScottV, Maj, EZ, WB, G3, Minner and Minner, Holic, and on and on and on.
With that said there is one person that makes this all possible, SLAB!! I know I am a pain in the butt from time to time but without you this wouldnt be happening, thanks for what you do man, hats off to ya!!!!!!!

Everyone that I have asked a question on c.com has given me some piece of information that I could incorporate into my way of fishing.
This wont win but it's the truff. And I like Slab's-that is awesome!!
for me it was my dad he died at 46 but the best crappie fisherman i ever new, he taught me to stick my jig in there and if i aint hung up i aint doing it right but on crappie.com prolly wannabe he proved that anyone can catch "A" fish so that has boosted my confidence and my fishing abilities thanks wannabe![]()

Even tho I'm not eligible, I learned I kin catch fish w/o minners, thanx to Major. I learned that all those pretty plastics really do help u catch fish from G3 Troller, (n both Major n G3 helped me understand just what the heck I was looking at on those hd screens) N Rip A Lip for sharing Sardis hot spots n jigging tips.
I know it's just basic beginners stuff, but when it comes to crappie fishin, that's what I am...N I'm looking forward to learning alot more. Feelay, ur next!!!
N non fishin related, I learned crappie ain't near as good w/o Scott n Pam's dill dip!!!
This really tough, I've learned so much from so many... Some don't even know they helped me...
So I'm going to make a list...
First I have to go with crappiehooker he took me Crappie fishing for my first time 3 years ago. We pulled cranks and my first Crappie was on a hot pink bandit and he was 17" long... I was hooked forever....
We pulled cranks with regular fishing rods out the back of that 14' Jon boat at Sardis. No rod holders except the ones god gave us...
Since than everything I've learned was from all of you!
Bill taught me about setting up a proper spider rig.
Sat, Major, "G" and others taught me the right way to pull cranks.
Meatgetter, and Donnie taught me about gnats/ minner critters. (they're both great!)
Don Don taught me about bigfoot and green cups... Thumps up.
Wannabe, taught me what funny really is... And what a good sportsman is!!!
ES taught me how to crop photos!
And laugh at myself!
Kdavid1 taught me how to use my fish finder... And how to make the best out of what ya got!
ATM taught me about forgiving and forgetting! Thanks buddy!
Maachuu taught me how to paint cranks...
Scott V taught me how to push cranks!...
So many of you told me about terrova... And that's a big one!!!
And Barbie taught me how not to pull it in. (the terrova)
And last but not least by far... Slab taught me that sometimes adults need a timeout!
And there are many, many more of you..... I learn somthing new every day from you guys and gals!
THANK YOU ALL

OK....I declare myself not eligible in this contest but I do want to tell you some about the C.C family. I have learned a lot from everyone, I have had lots and lots of questions answered. I have had some good lessons from G3T and ScottV. I have had some good fellowship and some good eating at the camp cookouts with most of you. I owe a good bit to EZ for his help with some projects on my boat. Believe it or not I have gotten some good advice from Wannabe on occasion. I have met a true American Hero ....yep billbob. Also met Mr. Jim who was in the same squadron in the Navy that I was in. Made a lot of friends from around our state as well as several different states. Hey.....you can't beat it....this is a good group of folks. I am just proud to be here. Good luck to y'all in this contest
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
