    Default Outboard Hydraulic Question

Talking to a fella at work the other day that just bought a 19' Basstracker w/90 Merc ELPT. The boat and motor are fine, but after going out in it a few times he has come to realize he has hydraulic issues and has to trim the motor up repeatedly. Said he priced a new kit and it was in the $900 range.

Wasn't there a thread about this not too long ago? Seems like somebody had a crafty solution to this problem.

That is the only question I knew to ask. He seems to think it isn't a line leaking.

The oring kits are 57.27 at boats.net (I just picked a random serial number) if the pump is good I would think just an internal reseal would do

And as long as the motor itself is fine, it aint no big deal to go through and replace the seals and orings

I am with KDavid and Ducker I would bet its just an O ring or something simple. Man 900 bucks sounds like a new cylinder and everything to me. JMO

Replace the seals. If the motor was bad, it wouldn't work at all. Usually the up or down quits working if the motor or relays go bad. It's probably like ducker said, just low on fluid!!!!!
