Default Question for WB and his electronical wizardry

Put my new battery on the boat and made sure all was charged. Terova still underpowered big time. Is it posible to burn up a 36v motor by running it off 24v? My luck, yes. Had the cruise set on 1.8 mph and noticed it was wide open in 10th gear the day I realized something was wrong. No telling how long I ran it that way.

I seriousy hope its not my tm. Guess my next step is to unwedge and unhook all 3 and let walmart put a load on them. Got a bad feeling it's not a battery problem

You don't have to take them out to test them. Just unhook the wires, and test away. If they're good, just hook back the wires. I didn't know a 36v TM would run on 24. I've never tried it. Good Luck!!!

Bet its batts or connection, should be a fail safe in the Terrova to protect it from this.

Do u have a muloneter? If so, have u measured the voltage at the TM connection?

36 will run on 24v, but it creates excessive heat and it ain't good for it. Test voltage at plug where u connect tm. If u getting 36 or ther abouts, check voltage on each tm and report numbers.

Havent checked for 36v yet, but I know that it can read 36 without a load but still have a problem. Have to remove the batteries because no real access to the posts.

DD, can I borrow your multimeter?

Size: 29.4 KBThis shows how to wire your batteries.....for 36 volts just add the third battery and wire as the series chart shows.
