    Default Keeping Fish Alive

Was wondering how you guys keep your fish alive at the tournaments during the hot months. I know that most of them won't make it , just throwing them in a live well.....will they?

Hope to break out of my shell next year, and fish some FJ's with yall. Just trying to get my "ducks in a row"

    Thanks!!

Aint gotta have em alive to fish FJ's but it helps.. During June and July we Just use a Big cooler with lake water and a frozen gallon jug in it.. They make it most of the day... really need to keep the water recirculated and cool.. a little oxygen and some additives really do the trick too

I have fished tournys for years and the best way is to run straight oxygen either in your livewell or sometimes I will use a 150 qt cooler and run my oxygen into it.

In tourneys only keep the number of fish you need in the livewell.Keep a constant circulation and ice.And always clean out your livewell after every trip. And you will be fine.

Oxygen, try to keep water temp between 70-75 degrees, change out water occasionally to reduce ammonia build up. Those fish will jump out of the weigh basket!!!

I have two BIG livewells in my Ranger. Keeps them frisky all day, no O2 or ice required.
