Lot of it has to do with light penetration, location of their main food source, water temp and oxygen level, you know black crappie like shallow water more than whites do.Could be a number of things. All that rain has washed in a lot of extra food source. If the fish find a comfort zone they can move laterally from deep to shallow but remain at the same depth in both places.Just some of what I've learned over the years!!Moon phases have a lot to do with fish and game activity!
OLD GEEZER FISHERMEN NEVER DIE, THEY JUST SMELL THAT WAY!!
Crappie and all other fish by the way, have only three reasons to be where they are at any particular time: procreation (that's making little crappies for those of you who didn't graduate from Nanih Waiya:biggrin), comfort, and a food source.
Well where I been catching them . The shad is like hair on a dogs back . Bass and gar too. Haven't caught any gar on a jig yet . That makes more sense . Like I said I am still learning . I gave then a break this weekend . I know they ain't scared but I sure try to worry them every chance i get .
Next time you catch one with "mud" on their bellies, give it a sniff...smells just like sardines!
Well now I won't have too now , I believe ya'll . Ya'll are telling me they are full of it , I reckon. I know they stink up a live well .
