No. Some times they just get a glitch. You can sometimes stowe the motor and re deploy to fix it. Other times, especially after extended periods of inactivity, you have to re-learn the remote.

the older model remote and I have just tried to find my book on the new remote that came with my terrova and I have misplaced itI am wandering if the same battery will work for the new iPilot remote on my terrova ?? I have a CR 2450 Energizer left from other remote. I notice the other day when I fished that the remote quit responding (it was flashing) and I connected my foot pedal to use and used it a little with the pedal and then the remote started to work again, I figured the battery was going down, only thing is that on the other TM I had, I had it for bout 2 years and never put a battery in it. Is the life that much shorter on the new remotes ?
Thanks
Larry

Got the new remote in January, haven't changed the battery yet. You know I use mine way more than you use yours.

So can u replace the old remotes with the new one? If so, do they all work each other?

Ok, looks like it is that same battery as the older model remote (CR2450) as best as I can tell from minnkota website
Everything is interchageable...batteries and remotes. I have two i-pilots and three remotes. I can use any remote, on any motor.
