    Default Reality check

Most of you know I have been building the Dub-L-Seat for over a year now, and working steady on other projects. I never intended for my little hobby to consume so much time. I noticed my 10 yr old grand daughter, who has lived with me since she was 3 when her parents abandoned her ( for all the glory of drugs and alcohol) hanging around the shop much more than usual this last week, "helping out" by cutting a few parts To make a long story short, the next words that kid said to me shook me to the core. " Pawpaw, if I help you get caught up can you take me to church and then fishing"....... what was I thinking.

It was then I realized I was guilty of repeatedly saying the words no child should have to hear, "I'm way too busy sweetheart". It's time for a change.

You definitely have to make time for the important things in life, especially family. By the way, I love my Dub-L-Seat.

Time is your most vauable asset and how you spend it is your reward, not dollars. So proud for you that she wants your time and hope this never changes. Church and fishing, now thats the life, out of the mouth of babes.

Kids have a way of bringing us back in line. Glad she had that little talk with you and glad you reminded us too.

Ouch! That will leave a mark. A good one but a mark nonetheless.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

Buddy, I'm already in progress! I stopped taking any new orders for now and will limit my shop time to 4-5 hours a day AFTER she goes to sleep at night. I can't just stop making the seats because I love doing it, but I refuse to build anything if she's not getting the support, love guidance she needs. This kids whole family is messed up, I have only one chance to do this right and I fully intend on doing just that.
