I've seen them use a water pump to drive piles in Florida... They but a weight on top of the piles and use a hose with a pvc pipe attached to it to wash the dirt/sand out from under the piles.. as the piles sink they fill back in around themselves. I don't know if this would work on Mississippi mud though...

Not sure, I know the pile drivers will work, best to pull the water down and do it and put a ramp in at the same time.:biggrin
Doit more toward fall too, wouldnt want to pull too much water off in this heat. Gravel beds, structure, just alot can be done.

Why not build a floating one anchored with two phone poles on the bank ?

i know of a guy who does really good work but he lives in south carolina his name is rod wall he owns slabmaster baits of course that is not local at all

All you need are some two inch galvanized pipes drove in the lake bottom for the floating dock to slide up and down on. Its not too hard to drive pipe into a lake bottom. I built a pier years ago on a farm pond and drove 4X4 treated posts into the pond bottom....It was not much trouble. It was a 8ft.X 20 ft pier.....built the whole thing with water in the pond.

I would rather have a floating one, but still gotta find someone who builds them, or at least carries the materials to put one together.

Anchoring it is not the big problem. What did you use for the actual peir?

Mine wasn't floating...I used treated lumber to frame it and decked it with white oak lumber that I got at a saw mill. You can buy large styrofoam floats to use to make floating piers though.

Use plastic 55 gallon drums for your pontoons.

Use the galv. Steel pipes as stated for corners and sides. Build deck according to posts and use straps that slide up and down the poles to make it floatable. If I were closer I would be glad to build it but dont think its feasible for me or u.
