    is the Edgemaker Pro about as good as it gets?

    bunch of good sharpeners out there, as long as you got a good quality knife that will take and hold a edge....

    I've got a Lansky sharpener if you'd like to use it. I have the Edgemaker also. No need to buy one.

    not hijackin Steves thread since this is kinda in the same area, but is there a way to sharpen the serrated filet knife blades ?

    Yes but it ant easy to get it right you have to lay it flat with the flat side of the blade up then run a flat sharpening stone a cross it to remove just enuf to brig the edge back but if you have the stone or blade at any angle you will screw it up.
    If the fish aren't bitting just remember your not at work ! :D

    Edgemaker claims it will but I've yet to see it. I usually just buy new blades.

    I inhereted this thing a couple years ago and finally got around to cleaning it up and giving it a try. Man! This thing puts an edge on quick!
