    Default need some prop help please.......


    totaled my aluminum prop about three weeks ago at the mud hole. found this one and hope it works. if is for my 50hp merc 2 stroker. what i need to know is what the torque value i need put on the nut.....WS

    Most are tighten till nut just gets snugged up then turn to the next slot where you can install cotter pin. You may have to raise the motor up on transom one notch to get the best performance from that stainless prop.

    Yup and them after you run it, check and make sure you can't get it one slot tighter. Never want it loose.

    Very nice prop Windstone but thats the first one I ever seen with snoopy painted on the blade.

    On a serious not I could be wrong but I dont think that style had a cotter pin. I think you tighten it up real good and snug then there should be a flat washer type thing that has tabs that fold up against the nut to keep it from backing off. May be wrong but I think Im correct on this?

    Tighten it as tight as you can, and the cotter pin holes line up, or you can bend down the lock tabs on the Merc.

    thanks everyone, yes it has tabs, not cotter key... very observant on the snoopy action. that is actually a reflection from a birthday card.
