Default Went fishing in the big pond

Whoever suggested Red-eye cahrters out of Fort Morgan, AL was spot on. Here are some pics of our recent trip.
My only complaint about the charter was he had no first mate.

8 hours and we got our Amberjack limit and 3 cobia. We caught about 50 red snapper, but the season did not start until the next day so we had to throw all of them back. It was a great trip.

Great day trip. You got the best eating fish in the Gulf with those Cobia, and AJ is right behind them.

anybody got any good recipes or good ways to cook these fish. I have no idea really, other than marinate in Italian dressing and grill.

Butter, a quality rib rub and a tinge of brown sugar sprinkled on em for the amberjack. Smoke em at around 200-250 till the meat puffs up. Very fine eatin. If ya ain't never tried a rib rub on fesh, ya don't know what you're missing.

Chilly, make DANG sure you cut the blood line out of the AJ. If you don't it will RUIN the meat. I know this from experience of 30 yrs ago.
