You can ask Creekslick on the AR board also. He runs a kicker with a Terrova for steering at Greers all the time!!!

Hawgdog, I have and F&F 1966 and really wish I had a 2.5hp 4stroke, Sat has his on a 20ft Charger bass boat and the fiberglass boat is heavy, he can run all day too.

So different question....whats the down side to just running the main motor vs the kicker? other than having to use some drift socks

It is not good to idle a 2 stroke big motor all day, If you have a 4 stoke go for it but get trolling plate installed on the motor to slow you down.

Yep do it all the time. I added a raptor rudder to mine so I can control direction with almost no power at all from the Terrova.

Big motor burns more gas than the kicker.... and just extra wear on the motor.
