Once you set the speed will it maintain it by its self?? Like set on 1.8 and you turn into the wind will it adjust to stay at 1.8?

It will. A heavier deep V boat sitting low in the water wont loose as much speed as a shallow, top floating skiff waiting on the trolling motor to adjust after turning into the wind. It really depends on the kind of boat you have.....but the tm does make the adjustment in speed when the cruise control is set.
