Just went to the Revenue Office to renew the registration on my 79 Duracraft tin boat. Now I've had this craft since 1983 and the registration is current. I was simply flabbergasted when the lady told me that I couldn't renew it because I didn't own it any longer. The Hull # and the state # had been transferred to some fella in Marianna on Dec 20, 2011. Nothing I can do unless the other fella fesses up as to how he got my numbers. Sheriff has been here, taken photos and info. The people in Marianna told me that this fella buys and sells a lot of boats. Sheriff made special note of that. I wish that Arkansas had boat titles.

If the fish aren't bitting just remember your not at work ! :D
That sux!!
Sounds like you and a sheriffs officer need to take a ride to Marianna.

State Police involved now. The things that the revenue office in Marianna are telling me can't be true. They say that when he presented the AR number that it would automatically link it to the hull #. Not so. In Arkansas you must assess the boat with the county tax assessor by VIN. Therefore they couldn't possibly gotten my numbers by mistake. Only time will tell.
That's a hoot!! Could only happen in Arkansas....... I wish we had boat titles here too!
From the ARK-LA-MISS Delta....... Crappie Paradise ! ! ! !
Man you aint have no luck with getting boats registered--
HA--I once was accused of stealing a tag when I lived in Batesville--I was in a wreck in my Bronco and the cop said the license was for a toyota puck-up--I told him "you better check again" course when I went to register the boat here in MS they still showed it being owned by the original owner (from 1991 in MS)
heck my dad had it for 5years registered in AL
This just keeps getting better and better. The revenue office didn't call me this morning, so I called them. After she went and talked to the man, guess what? THE BOAT IS REPORTED STOLEN!!!! Problem with that is that the sheriff's office and the Game and Fish folks don't have any record of it being stolen as of yesterday evening. This could turn out to be very entertaining and time consuming. Since there is no stolen boat report available, I wonder what the next chapter will bring.
