Ya may need to add some Agricultural Lime to the soil to balance it out, Just put a coating on the ground right at your plant and then add mulch, it'll soak in. Thats what the county extension office told me. Put 1 cup of powder lime around plant also said to put potash the same way. My first year doing this so got my fingers crossed.
