    Default Frustrated!!!


    Hey yall, I need your help. I have the worst luck spooling spinning reels. I have watched You Tube videos and still aint gettin it. I have it go onto the reel in the same direction it comes off the spool, no help. I flip the spool and it still twists. I am beginning to wonder if it was spooled twisted?! Brand new 2400 yard spool of Stren Hi Vis Gold. HELP ME!!!!!!!banghead

    After you spool the reel take a hair drier and heat the line up just enuf to give it a little memory.
    If the fish aren't bitting just remember your not at work ! :D

    Stren is bad to twist.....thats why I quit using it. I use Cabelas Pro Line now....high vis yellow.

    Use anything but stren. Sorry.

    I had never had a problem with stren before. First time using the large spool, usually a 330 yd spool. I had the same problem with 2 different spools of Mr Crappie! I'll try the dryer trick oleblue. Thanks guys!

    The larger spool might be the problem, stren has a longer memory than other lines. Next time try vicious.

    What do you think of sprayin some reel magic on the spool and letting it sit for a day before putting it on the reel? Supposed to take memory out of the line.

    It wouldn't hurt anything. I use Reel Magic all the time.

    Can't hurt to try.
    They (dupont) use to make this line in the plant in parkersburg, wv. Then they started making it overseas. It's not as good as it use to be. My dad worked in that plant for 33 years.

    Actually the plant was in Washington, WV just outside parkersburg.
