Its suppose to compress, so its all mounted in rubber. It looks like it pulled through the holes. I would just mount it solid with a large diameter flat washer underneath

Trolling motor base came loose from boat.. Is anyone familiar with these rubber grommets. They have a nut insert
Question is: is this grommet going to expand when bolt in threaded? Or should there be a second nut under the deck that may have vibrated off
Thanks for any information!

Thanks Wilbur,
I was trying not to have to take off front deck, because it is rivited. I have never been under it personally, as I bought this boat used.
Was just wondering if they would compress so I wouldn't have to take off front deck. May try find some new ones, if they do compress when bolt is threaded.
As you tighten the screw the bottom mushrooms to hold it tight.

I am surprised those pulled out. When I put my PD on I had to cut the old rubber mounts out. But do agree with Wilbur--mount it solid or with a quick plate.
Found some and ordered. They are pretty much "junk" according to the reviews i have read, but don't really have a choice at this point. I will just keep some spares in the boat. Thanks again
