didn't realize this. guess i have been illegal all this time. a ticket wouldn't bother me, but if i came up on someone in the water and didn't have something to throw to them, that would haunt me the rest of my life..... on my shoppin list for today......

I got mine too. What about having a paddle on board? Is that a required piece of safety equipment too? I've always carried one.

Probably should be ATM but dont think it is, got to get me a throwable. The inflatable being legal only when worn changed my mind about getting those tho.

Keep the regular LJ in the boat for when you get checked, wear the inflatable when running from spot to spot and take it off when fishing, if you get checked you got the regular LJ in the boat, or am I misunderstanding the issue?
    I got 350 heads on a 305 engine.
I get 6 miles to the gallon.
I aint got no good intentions.

    You understood it right.........

Thats what I do....I have my inflatable for two reasons........To keep from getting so hot while I am running the big motor.......and I wear it all the time only when I am by myself.....that way if something happens to me ( heart attack....fall out of boat and get knocked out).....if I am alive I will be floating face up. If I am not alive, it will be easier to find me.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Having served on a dive/rescue team, that last point is outstanding to me.

I had been wondering about the mandatory wearing of the inflatable. It's good to have that clarified. I think I still want one.
