No disrespect intended, but is that not the same cap worn by the US Army in the civil war?..... Yankee Hat... When I was younger I use to volunteer at Fort Clinch in Fernadena, FL on the weekends. We dressed as Yankee Soldiers and entertain the quests by showing them what it was like to be in the army during the civil war. Our Captain wore a hat like that. Fort Clinch was controlled by the US Army the entire war. It never saw any action. The southern's never saw a reason to try and take the Fort.
Any way that might be a US Army 1st Cav. hat but its also a Yankee hat!!!
