Default List your boat mechanic here.

Crappieholic might look and smell a little funny, but he's got a decent idea.

Ya'll post whoever you endorse along with a phone number and any description ya want and I'll compile a list and get G-3 to pin it for me...on account of G3 will do whatever I tell him too.

    For example:

XYZ Marine - 103 Goodman Rd, Southaven - 662-123-3456 - Talk to Chuck, he's really good. Authorized dealer for Yamaha and has a large parts dept.

Feel free to be as long or brief as ya want, but keep in mind I'll be associating your name with endorsement.

    Here's Mine:

Jerry Grant - Grant's Repair - Grenada - Located in the Old Dixie Auto Auction Building on Hwy 8 2 miles past Lakeway going towards Gore Springs. Phone is 662-688-4274. Jerry's one of those guys that can fix any dang thing with or without a motor. You're liable to pull up and he'll have a Trachoe, A tractor, and F250 and a Big Honkin' In/Outboard waiting to be fixed. He's honest to a fault and has always treated me way more than fair. Plus I believe is his labor rate is only $50/Hr. I've used him at one time or another on a 15HP Evinrude, a 60HP 4 Stroke Yamaha, a 200HP Mercury Carb and a 175 EFI Merc. Also helped rebuild my trailer brakes and install all my add ons for my current boat. Anything mechanical and he's your man. In addition he's done pretty significant work for me on 2 trucks, 2 vans and a Ford Car. Now, I'd come short of endorsing him for a complete ECU remap on a HDPI Yammy or Optimax, but as long as it's mechanical and non ECU related, he can do it. And he'll tell you if it's something that he can't do and refer you to a dealer if he can't handle it. Heck he's even worked on a generator for my brother and got it going for him. People like this, that can do all kinds of stuff, really tick me off.

As I said before, my choice around Barnett is Performance Outboard located on Lakeland Drive just before you get to Hwy 471 exit. Their number is 601-992-6360. Ask for Kenny or Myron. These guys will help you out anyway they can.

If you have an Evinrude or Johnson, take it to JR'S Outboard repair located behind Duncan Marine which is on Old Fannin Road up near Spillway Road. He has been working on these 2 brands for 30 years.

The guy that owns Ed's now, I think his name is Brian, has been having trouble keeping good help around. I dropped off a prop for repair and he kept it about a month after telling me it would be ready by the end of that week. There were two or three times where he gave me a date it would be ready and then when I called on the date he gave he would say a couple more days. My boss grew up with the guy and told me he has been having problems with the help not showing up.
    I got 350 heads on a 305 engine.
I get 6 miles to the gallon.
I aint got no good intentions.

I don't know, just sharing my experience. Apparently, in conversations with my boss he refers to his employees as his "crack-heads". I get the impression he likes to use cheap labor and that the headaches that go along with utilizing cheap labor get passed along to the customer. I don't have any complaints about the actual work done, the prop was fine once I finally got it back. There is another guy in the Memphis area who works on props out of his garage in Germantown, I have heard nothing but good things about him. I don't know his name or the name of his business, my father-in-law gave me his number and I just saved it in my phone as "prop shop". The number is 901-756-9365.
