went to the yahoo group and Greg over there said that we won;t begetting it but I also went to the Facebook page to vent abit. LOL Here's what I got from the person in charge on their Facebook page which appears to be someone in Support



Donald, thank you for the comment. The 997 will receive another software update in approximately one month that will include as many of the 2012 software upgrades as the unit can handle. While we try hard to include as many software updates as possible on older units it must be understood that processor power and memory space in older units are limited and as we add more features the required space for larger more complex software can’t be accommodated by the hardware in the older units. When we reach this point on a unit we have no choice but to stop doing software updates for that unit. Hope this helps. I'm in the same boat with ya DD, I've been more than satisfied with the updates they have provided so far though. And thank goodness 997's don't support that new 360 degree thingy, I'd be one of the first suckers in line for it
