Changes direction. The first pic is where Turkey Creek is headed East Southeast accross to Skuna River and it has split back to the right headed West towards Lacook. The second pic is taken about a mile away from the split. We used to have hand fishing boxes beside that cypress tree, when I got out of the truck the water behind the cypress had current in it. What the heck, been fishing and going down to this spot for 30 years and I have never seen current here during a low water situation. I then went around to Turkey and road around the banks and cam up on the split explaing the current over by the cypress. This is not just a cut through, it's a major change in direction and now has my curiosity up as to where it goes.

dd, to give you an idea, when you fished redgrass last year, i think it was around 212-213. at 197, it is 14-15 feet lower. the places we fished were in 4-5 ft. of water at 212 or so. at 197, the whole area will be dry, except where the creek is, and that woulnt be much to write home about.
GEEZ MAN, what a bunch of idiots for letting it get that low

always like this.......they say "flood control", but i think its absurd, this much fluctuation. also, we have been in a drought for 8-10 years now. the lake used to regularly get over 220-225, i dont even remember when it was that high last.
Duck, only an act of God will put us back to 220 and a very serious flood to get us to 225, just aint gonna happen. Used to park a mile and a half North of Bryant on old 7 and get out and wade the old road bed and the water would be over my waders long time before i got to Bryant. I have doubts that I will ever get to do that again.
Was reading somewhere the other day that they had lowered the winter pool several years back to 193 where it was at 195.5 if I am not mistaken. That 2.5 feet of water is a big difference, especially at Bryant which is my closest ramp.banghead

rees, i remember when the water used to come over the emergency spillway at 231 level..........we used to fish off the bridge at greysport and catch the crap out of crappie. the water was so high, a boat was not able to cross under the bridge, lol.
