We were talking about this the other day, so here it is again. I'm about to need a new set on my 4runner. Had some Toyo 265-65-17's quoted out the door for $875 at Gateway.
Now I'm exploring some other options. Anybody buy tires over the internet, then have them installed?
Not through looking yet, but I just found these w/free shipping for $595. I don't necessarily like having all terrains on a 2wd, but I'm cheap and I don't care that much. Lots of reviews of folks getting 75K and 80K out of them.
WRANGLER AT/S Tires by Goodyear at TireBuyer.com
I'm sure my local tire store frowns on doing this, so I wonder what kind of $ they will charge me to put them on?

How do you know they are not seconds or blems ? might not make any difference but it may be something to consider.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

As odd as it sounds, I've bought my last 3 sets from a ford dealer. You find the lowest price for a particular tire on it and they will beat the price on the tire. My local dealer participates "owner advantage" program and that equates to about 2 free oil changes with the tire purchase.
Call Dunlap and Kyle and ask for a price on the Toyo's. Gateway will beat it. Toyo is a A1 tire. Goodyear is a A2. tire.
Ok, that's the best deal I could find.
I've had good luck with Toyo's myself, but not an extra $200 worth of good luck.
If I get the Goodyears and can get them mounted for $75, then I've still saved $200. I could buy a 3 bank charger for that!
