Gator, in that thread the discussion leader poo poos vertglass as a quick fix hair tonic. He says all of the "easy kits" are nothing more than polymers that will look good initially, but quickly fade again as they can not bond to the gel.

That's the thing KD. Some areas need the wet sand, some just a glaze and some just a wax buff. Think I'm gonna do the 1000 on the worst spot, 1500 on the lighter areas and the whole boat with 2000. Then glaze the entire thing and finish with pro-tec.

But again, all that is gonnabe dead last.

I used it on my Dad's boat 8 years ago and it's not needed to be done since. And this boat is in South Florida. we apply uv protec every year and thats it... I wouldn't lie to ya the stuff is amazining... just thought I woud share......

salt and sun.... very tough on gel coat

Well if you do it now while you have it all torn down it will be easier on you, to get around everything later after it is put back on is a pain in the corn hole.

And that get coat looks to be about a 2 or 3 week ordeal considering my schedule and available time to fool with it. Plus I got tax season and year end coming and you know them farmers are gonna want money come 1st of February. Time is getting bad short. I worry if I do the gel now and put off rigging, it'll be sitting there unfishable until May.
