I've been meaning to try that myself. I assume you'll be using crappie meat instead of crab. Let us know how it turns out.

I like to cut up some fillets into 1/2in by 3in strips and have a pot of zartans shrimp boil at a boil drop in strips abd when they float to the top scoop em out and drop in a bowl of ice water after a few min.drain the ice water and they are ready to go. I like to dip them in some cocktail sauce or top offa tossed salad.

Get bout7-8 crappie filets n boil em like you would crawfish until they float. Put em in a ice bath to cool. Draim them good n.put in.the fridge. Tastes just as good as crab. Well almost lol

    Got em too salty dangit!!

I had a big bag of fish so I had to tweak ammounts. Fish didn't have a lot of crab boil flavor, so I got the bright idea to add a splash to my batter mixture. Don't know if crab boil is extra salty, or if me doubling down on salt to begin with jacked it up. Either way, I ruined them. I wouldn't toss this recipe just yet though. It had several good reviews before my fiasco.
