    Default Axle Help Needed

Coming home from Grenada yesterday I heard a noise like I had run over something between Vaiden and Kosciusko. What it wound up being was my bearing buddy coming off of my boat trailer and bouncing up and hitting the boat. Of course I didn't realize this until all the grease had come out and I burnt the bearings up. The spindle is scored so I need an axle. I'm sure I'll have to get it through Stratos, which is now owned by Ranger. I did get lucky enough to make it home with the boat and I jacked it up and removed the axle. I talked to a Stratos dealer and he said I'll have to get an axle assembly through Ranger. Anyone have any better ideas?

I think Torch had some thoughts on this a while back, I'm sure he will chime in when he sees this.

I bought one from this place some years back and have been real happy with it. They were extremely helpful.

This axle has an inner spring in it. The center of the axle is a square beam and the spindle is on a "L" shaped apparatus that will spring up and down. I'll take some pics of it tomorrow and post them. Thanks for everybody's help.

A shop might be able to cut the spindle out of that "L" shaped piece and weld a new spindle in.

Like "G" says. Spindle can be changed out. Have done it often.

Scott, can the spindle not be cleaned up? If it didn't ceaze it will most likely could be cleaned up and be fine.

Nobody in the Meridian area has enough sense to clean up the spindle or to weld a new one on. I'll have to take it to somebody that knows what they're doing. The bottom of the spindle has a pretty good flat spot on it.
