Rees the only reason your seeing 20 - 24 boats in the last couple of FJ's is because they are in the Northern part of the state and are held on lakes that have a reputation for producing big crappie. Like DD said once the sechedule goes south so does the attendance. More of us just happen to live in the Northern part of the state.Quote:

Yikes, question for you. Why don't you northern folks fish farther south like Barnett? If the southern guys can pull to Arkabutla, there's no reason y'all can't come to Barnett. Down deep, I'd really like to see a team have to either fish or pay for every tournament. It appears that most folks pick and choose the ones that they have a better chance to win.
Holic I fished everyone since the fj's started I live 1.5 hours to the closest lake. Ross barnet is 2 plus hours for me I dont mind fishing it once but barnett is a dink lake in my opinion

That takes the "fruit jar" asspect completely out of it and it becomes a circuit type thing. Dont think that's what alot of the FJ teams are looking for. If I were wanting to fish a circuit type trail there are plenty to fill that need and I may do that very thing but hope we can keep the C.C FJ tourneys just that.Quote:

The TD will also keep the weigh-in board up to date so folks know who's caught what. Torch will be the "head record keeper" so WB can get the money straight. DD will be responsible for short fish and help anyone that needs help. I know, I know, some are beyond help. This is just my thoughts.
Yea, it came out of Enid 60 years ago and there hasn't been a 4lb fish caught since. The story goes that the man bought the fish from a commercial fisherman for .50 cents and told everybody he caught it.

Caught a 4.1 in 2007 at Water Valley, Caught a 4.2 in Grenada in 1982. The Corps lakes have big fish we all know it. I have yet to see a weigh in at Barnett even during the spawn that has tipped the scales for more than 14 lbs. Just for the record MCC had a 16+ pound sack last year on Barnett. That included a 3 pound fish. I agree its not as good as the Corp. lakes for big fish but its far from a dink hole. Now is it a hard lake to fish if you don't know it? Yes!!!

OK, here's how I see it. We elected DonDon as Lakemaster last year. It is the Lakemasters duty to pick lakes and dates. It's not left to a poll or personal preferences. Not every lake or date will suit everyone. Don will set them. If you can come, Great. If you can't, then we will see you at the next one. Period!!!! I think we need southern tournaments also but personally, I'm not driving 8 hours to Barnett for a 5 hour tournament.

Best suggestion so far has been to committitize the thing so all of us can stop seeing how the sausage gets made. Some want more spicy and some less. Some want more fat, some more lean. All this bickering back and forth is premature, ain't helping nuthing and is rubbing folks the wrong way. Ain't nuthin' changing till after the championship. And the existing committee will address any changes to the the chairman's role, board of directors, new committees or whatever.
Bottom line is...I think the time when we could run this thing and decide stuff through the C.C board has passed with this championship. It needs to be run by the committee and the committee needs to be elected through the boards and then it's up to us if we like the rules, schedule, lakes and fees enough to participate in the FJs.
Anyhow....shaddup. You're making my head hurt.
