Go up river and fish the river channel. You can slow troll or fish tops. If you're fishing tops, get you some 20lb braid and get after it. Do you know where Horseshoe is? The river channel is good in that area. Fish from Caney Creek entrance all the way up to Bikini Beach(1st sand bar on the left).

Ain;t no place on Barnett to hide much. ONLY place you can fish and catch a few right now with a strong wind in the Water intake. Mostly dinks though. Best advise GO TO CHOTARD

Sounds like good advice . Going to chotard is on my list but my wife would kill me if i went without her . Isn't the channel to horse just past caney creek ? I have fish in horse but came in off the pipeline in a much smaller boat . Not sure how to get there from river channel . I went saturday to leak county and put in . Caught about 20 but only kept 2 . And got to restock my jigs . So at lunch headed to bps .

Go to the bay. They have been catching them along the creek for weeks.

In the middle 12-14 ft deep on ledges. 12ga slug will take care of gator.

Thanks for the advise . Thursday i fish the lake till the wind got bad . Caught 6 keepers and a few dinks . Friday i went and the wind was already up . Caught a couple nice ones in the welfare hole , then took off up river . Found a couple good tops together . Caught about50 small ones . Then boom the fish just appeared . Caught 8 keepers in about 5 minutes then they were gone again .the fish lier went crazy . Then they disappeared . Caught one that would go 2 pounds . Thanks oh , i saw the biggest gator i ever seen up . Definitely a tree shaker .
