Yamaha HPDI or 4-Stroke

Suzuki seems to differ with ya Bigger.

The 250SS weighs in at a whopping 578 lbs. Don't think it's supercharged.

Check the hole shot time on the Bullet - 5.78 seconds to 30 mph. Not amazing, but not bad. The Puma was 8.02 seconds...slow, but doable....not sure how it'd behave with a Feelay or two in the boat though.

Yes, hole shot will suffer with the big 4 strokes, but I'm not buying a boat to try and pull 4 Gs from a standstill to 30 mph.

Test shows stinky top end and instead of 0 to 30, they post seconds to plane. Sort of a subjective point to me. Also the F225 checks in at 586 lbs vs 578 on the 250SS Suzuki. Only a few pounds difference, but a lighter additional 25 horses sounds more better to me. Then again, comparing an SHO might be more apples to apples.

We are 4-stroke Suzuki fans all the way. He has a 140 on the 28 ft. toon with almost 400 hours on it. It's a 2004 bought new in 2004. I have a 115 hp 2007 bought new in box in 2009 and I'm unsure of the hours on it right now. We've had no issues with either one. Very quiet and very economical on fuel. It's our third Zuki 4-stroke and we'd drive 200 miles out of the way to get another if we were buying.

ok, one of you mentined service being expensive on the SHO. I found my 20 service invoice and it was 241 bucks. That was for oil change, tune up, lower unit, plugs, and computer hook up to make sure everything was good to go. Not too much more than my evinrude was it ran about 200.00 for a full service job. Now the SHO does not have to be checked again until 50 hours.

I think they were talking about a major repair....say an ECU goes bad, or a valve starts knocking. Take a look at that manual and tell me how many hours until a scheduled timing belt replacement? Bet that's gonna pinch a little. That being said, bet it's way north of 500 hours.....maybe even 1,000.
