No I started out, spider riggin minners...I'm almost to the point of paying one of you guys to peek over your shoulder at how to pull or cranks..I've never done it. I bought some from BPS a couple of years ago but have not even taken them out of the package. Back to the story, I had my spider rig out and was fishin 18' water and was going catching those hybids 6 at a time right off the bat. Got tired of feeding them so I moved back where I've been fishing the last couple of weeks, put the rig back out and 3lb cat hit...this went on for bout an hr...caught 6 or 7 more and 2 or 3 crappie(biggest 14"). 2Weeks ago I busted one of my poles on a cat down there, so I put up my spider rig and broke out a bobber and catfish pole and sat there till bout 1 tossing minnows up by the bushes doing it "old skewl". I had a blast.....I guess I'm easy to please. Didn't just kill em, but stayed busy...prolly caught 20 or so...

You push em or pull em? My poles are not trolling poles and it'd a trial to see if theyd support the weight it would take to keep the cranks down pushing. Dont have the $$ to get another set of cranking poles....

When I started out I didn't have the poles so I used two of my old bass rods and pulled one out each side of the boat. Nowdays It depends on the lake.... some times I just pull six out the back....sometimes I push six or 8 off the front, and sometimes I pull 4 and push 4 at the sametime.

When you can get some B'n'M pro trollers they are great get lengths where you can keep 4 ft. separation when you are pulling. I use a 14 and a 10 out each side at the back and 2 8 footers straight out the back most of the time. Pushing off the front you can fan them out and use all the same length
