Default 1 of the joys of a southern gal DonG

Just a little advantage of being married to a good ole southern gal, my 1st wife was from RI and none of this then. We share the figs with the birds of course but I can manage to climb up in the itchy tree and get enough for Carol to put up, of course I do help. She really likes them better than I do. Got 2 pear trees too that I share with the tree rats and birds so after another cooking of figs we will start on the pears. My granddaughter in Albuquerque loves the pears so we send them some for Christmas, she puts so many in her biscuits it becomes twice as thick.

    The end result.

That looks interesting. Never tasted anything like that. Might have to get a taste in Sept.

Those figs look great Steve, great looking jars.
My first wife was from RI also. First time I carried her to my mothers house mom was cooking collar greens. Well with her being from RI she had never seen anyone so poor they had to eat grass??? DohRofl
