    Default Motor pics

My niece and her hubby were over to the house last night so I only had time to take the cowling off and take a peek at it all. First tie I'd seen her in 2 years so it was a fun time. Here's a couple pics of the motor. a couple trips ago I filled the oil reserve tank op and when I trimmed it up, I noticed abit of oil on the deck of the boat. I assumed I over filled it and it was just leaking on the deck. Top pic shows abit of oil still under the motor. 2nd pic is the oil tank. Someone said something about a vacuum and there's a vent hole on one side of the top. Is there a cap missing or is that there to let air in so the oil goes down easier? 4th pic is just of the side of the motor.
BTW, I turned the key ON last night and it was still doing the BEEEEPPPPPPp so that tells me it's a sensor.

    Default 2nd set of pics

1st pic is at the bottom of the oil tank. Looks like a wire under there but i didn't have time to take the tank off to check it out

4th pic show some wires. I noticed a couple NOT hooked to anything but there was nothing there for them to hook to. They were straight and not bent at all like they'd be if they had just came aloose and fell back where they were

WHERE would the overheat sensor be? and the oil sensor. Just for this weekend, I want to unhook both then it goes in the shop next week

Definately a cap missing out of that little hole in the top. I've got a merc, also and it does the same thing when u fill it too much(not beep but run over the top when trimmed). I only ever fill mine bout 3/4 high.

You better hook that thing up and carry it to Performance Outboard on Lakeland and 471. If you'll get it out there this morning and let them know you have tournament to go to Friday am, they will fix it for you asap. You have a cap missing on the oil reservoir. Therefore, your engine is sucking air and no oil. The top picture is where your oil is blowing out. Go by PO and they might just put a new cap on you reservoir and that might fix it but I bet you have screwed up the oil sensor.

Don't worry about the wires, when they make the wiring harness, they put wires for other motors in them so they can be used by more than 1 motor. When I bought my boat, I carried it to a messican named Taco and started cutting wire and removing relays and I standing with my mouth open like what the hell have I done. He explained that most of the things he took off were for warranty reasons. The motor ran better and faster. Yours might need the same thing.

Remember Grenada Lake Fruit Jar? ES? 30 MPH coming across the lake and hitting only the tops of waves. LOL That's when I noticed abit of oil in the deck of the boat. I fileld it to the rim with oil and when I trim it all the way up, I guess it was leaking out the nozzle where the cap is. Ima look in the Housing and see if the cap is in there. SHOULD BE

That cap screws on. You probably left it off when you put oil in it. What you are looking at is the insert from the cap. You pull out the yellow top and there should be a black plastic piece hanging on the back. You better get it looked at or a $100.00 service bill might save you a new $6000 motor.
