Whether using braid or mono, always use a small barrell swivel and then 8 or 10lb leader. I prefer Vicious Hi-Vis Yellow 12lb and 8 or 10lb Vicious florocarbon. I'm not a big fan of braid except when jigging in heavy cover.

AHHH, that's the pic text I got from him last night AHHH HAHAHA Hey Meat Getter. It depends on the clarity of the water. If you got muddy or stained water, it really don;t matter that much. We got into this whole Braid vs mono thing at Enid last year around the camp fire. Both sides had their points and some said it made a difference with some saying it didn't. I was running 20 lb hi-vis braid on my jigs poles and still would cept I can get mono cheaper. They can see the line though but not enough to stop them from biting the thing. There will be times when they are finicky though that it might cause them to not bite but not to often. Try yourself a little test. Put 2 poles with braid and 2 mono set one of each with the same baits and same depths. See which ones work better
